Seamless Migration of Email Exchange 2013 to Office 365

Our MSP Client had a requirement for one of their customer- a leading multi-national electrical engineering solution provider.

Customer wanted to migrate their existing 200+ exchange mailboxes from Exchange 2013 to Office365 without downtime.
Eynetech did a prerequisite study on the existing infrastructure and scoped the project with hybrid migration method.

As per the scope, the first task was to prepare the O365 tenant with proposed subscriptions, licenses and domain configurations.
To meet up customer requirements, prior to AD connect configuration we changed non – routable domain to routable domain and configured AD connect with Single Sign-On (SSO) to provide seamless login for users to their cloud data.
As pre-requisites of Hybrid migration method, we have installed the latest Cumulative Updates (CU) for Exchange 2013 in a maintenance window and deployed Hybrid through Hybrid configuration wizard.
After hybrid deployment out team started moving mailboxes from on-premise exchange to Office365 and scheduled the MX record cutover in a scheduled maintenance window and tested the internal as well as external mail flow.
As additionally client requested us to configure Advanced Threat Protection (ATP) policies which includes safe attachments, safe links, anti-phishing, anti-malware and DKIM to secure the cloud data.
